This website (www.cambridgesidevision.com) will provide ongoing updates about construction activities as CambridgeSide 2.0 comes to life. CambridgeSide 2.0 will be built in multiple phases, while keeping CambridgeSide shops and restaurants in full operation, serving the community. The construction sequence has been designed to minimize impacts to surrounding community, pedestrians, bicyclists and vehicles. The first construction phase, beginning this fall, includes 20 CambridgeSide (former Macy’s) and 60 First (former Sears).
20 CambridgeSide – 4 week look-ahead
- Temporary construction barriers have been erected and will be maintained (and modified) as necessary throughout the construction process.
- Careful dismantling of the existing Macy’s store will be starting week of 9/20/21. Demolition includes complete structural removal of everything above Level 2.
- Land Boulevard in the South bound direction (side closest to Kimpton Marlowe Hotel) will be reduced to one travel lane and one left turn lane for the following weekends. Lane closures are from 7 pm Friday to 5 am Monday.

- Installation of Tower Crane and Structural Steel starting 10/29/21
60 First – 4 week look-ahead
